The Bible tells us that patience is an important quality for Christians to have. Being patient means waiting calmly, without getting angry or upset, even when things are difficult or take a long time.
In Romans 12:12, it says “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” This verse reminds us that we can be patient even during hard times by focusing on our hope in God and praying to Him.
Patience doesn’t always come easily. Our natural reaction is often to get frustrated when we have to wait or when things don’t go our way. But God can help us grow in patience if we ask Him. Galatians 5:22 lists patience as one of the “fruits of the Spirit” a quality that the Holy Spirit produces in us as we follow Jesus.
When we’re patient, we’re showing trust in God’s timing and plan. We’re saying that we believe He is in control, even when we can’t see the whole picture.
Patience also helps us treat others with kindness and love.
The next time you feel impatient, take a deep breath and ask God to help you wait with a good attitude. Remember that He is working, even when you can’t see it. Choose to trust His timing and be patient.
Prayer: God, please help me to be patient today. When I’m tempted to get frustrated, remind me to trust in Your plan and timing. Help me to wait with a good attitude. Amen.
